Function Room
The function room is available free to members on Friday and Sunday evenings between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (or later by agreement with the steward) and on Saturdays and Sundays between 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please contact our steward on 0115 9732796 during club opening hours, or email to check the availability of the room.
Although the club is generally closed during the daytime on Mondays to Thursdays; however, arrangements can be made to open the club to accomodate bookings.
Non-members are welcome to book the function room, but you will need to apply for membership of the club at the time of the booking.
We do require a deposit of £50 for Friday evenings, which is returnable the day after your event. Please note that the deposit is not refundable if you cancel within four weeks of the booked date. Please note the club can not confirm your booking until the deposit has been received.
A deposit is not normally required at other times, other than for very large functions where we have to book additional bar staff.
The function room is also available to hire during the daytime except Fridays and on Monday evenings.
In the past we have hosted children's parties, presentation evenings, birthday parties, wedding receptions, school reunions, and club and society social gatherings and dances.
The club's dance floor is 43½' by 15' (13.3m by 4.6m) and the club hosts a number of dancing classes (see Itinerary).
Please note that members are not permitted to bring their own drinks into the club (other than for babies).

Whilst we recognise that the nature of most, if not all, events staged within the club are such that no special precautions are required to ensure that our Licensing Objectives (see Rules) are fuly met, we nevertheless have been strongly advised by our Licensing Authorities to remind all hirers of our function of this requirement. Please be aware that the local licensing authorities have a very strict interpretation of these Licensing Objectives, which includes the conduct of your guests not only within the club, but during their journeys to and from the club. If you have any doubts as to whether your event complies with our Licensing Objectives, please leave a message for the club secretary to contact you to discuss how the club can assist you in managing your event.
Depending upon the nature of your event, we may require that your event is supervised by SIA registered doormen.
