Function Room

The function room is available free to members on Friday evenings between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (or later by agreement with the steward) and on Saturdays between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please contact our steward on 0115 9732796 or email to check the availability of the room.

In the past we have hosted children's parties, presentation evenings, birthday parties, wedding receptions, school reunions, and club and society social gatherings and dances.

Whilst we recognise that the nature of most, if not all, events staged within the club are such that no special precautions are required to ensure that our Licensing Objectives (see Rules) are fuly met, we nevertheless have been strongly advised by our Licensing Authorities to remind all hirers of our function of this requirement. Please be aware that the local licensing authorities have a very strict interpretation of these Licensing Objectives, which includes the conduct of your guests not only within the club, but during their journeys to and from the club. If you have any doubts as to whether your event complies with our Licensing Objectives, please leave a message for the club secretary to contact you to discuss how the club can assist you in managing your event.

In particular, following discussions with the local licensing authorities, the club feels unable to host discos or similar events for young adults, although family orientated eighteenth birthday parties remain most welcome.

We do require a deposit of £50, which is returnable the day after your event. Please note that the deposit is not refundable if you cancel within two weeks of the booked date. Depending upon the nature of your event, we may require that your event is supervised by SIA registered doormen.
