Club

The Long Eaton Silver Prize Band Social Club is a thriving club, with a large number of members of all age groups from Long Eaton and the surrounding area. The club is affiliated to the CIU and welcomes all holders of associate member and pass cards. If you are interested in joining the club, please drop into the club and speak to a committee member or a member of staff.

Our activities include free live entertainment every Saturday, club bingo on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, raffles, key in the box, dominoes, darts, snooker and pool. Our function room is available free to members on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

The club also remains the home of the its founder, the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, third section National Champions in 2006, and its thriving training band, to which all are welcome. The training band and beginner's group rehearse on Monday evenings: all are welcome and free loan of instruments and tuition are provided. For more details please visit the band's website.

The club steward is Mrs. Gaynor Atkin and the deputy steward is Miss Gayle Pagett.

A Brief History Of The Club

The club building was originally built in 1900 for the Long Eaton Institute Committee of the YMCA. Our band purchased the premises in 1928, and after converting the premises and building the games room extension, opened the club in 1929. Our function room was added in 1982.

Today the club is run by a commitee elected by its members, whilst retaining close links with our founders, the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, all of whose members are also members of the club.
